General Availability of Nationwide Internet Access Services: Internet Over Broadband (IOB), Internet Over Cable (IOC), and Internet Over Fiber (IOF)

09.09.2014
NEW ORLEANS, LA (September 9, 2014) – Spectrotel, Inc., a New Jersey-based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) serving customers throughout the United States, announces the general availability of its suite of nationwide Internet access services, including Internet Over Broadband (IOB), Internet Over Cable (IOC), and Internet Over Fiber (IOF).  Collectively, these services enable Spectrotel to offer high bandwidth, Internet access service across the continental United States at an attractive price.  This is possible because Spectrotel is able to take advantage of the widely deployed broadband infrastructure of different incumbent exchange carriers and cable operators across the country and then wrap it with Spectrotel’s personalized, high touch customer care and its consolidated, flexible billing to provide a “Simply Better Service.”

Spectrotel’s IOB Service uses the latest local access technologies, including fiber-to-the-node (FTTN) architecture, to maximize Internet bandwidth and service quality.  It is backed by Service Level Agreements, and service is available at speeds ranging from 6 Mbps to 75 Mbps serving businesses in a 22 state territory corresponding with AT&T’s service area.  IOC utilizes the Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) deployed by cable operators to provide cable Internet access.  Service speeds range from 3 Mbps to 100 Mbps, depending on the market.  IOF service is a fiber-based solution that uses fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) technology to provide high quality, high bandwidth Internet access.  Service speeds range from 50 Mbps to 500 Mbps, and it is available in a 13 state territory corresponding with Verizon’s service area.

IOB, IOC, and IOF are the latest to be added to Spectrotel’s Internet Over Everything (IOE) suite of internet access services.  With Spectrotel’s Internet Over Everything (IOE) service approach, companies are able to select from a variety of access technologies to receive the service that best meets their quality and cost requirements regardless of different markets and different underlying providers.  Spectrotel is able to provide a solution that includes the optimal Internet access in each particular market all on one convenient bill with Spectrotel’s personalized service.

Ross Artale, President and Chief Operating Officer of Spectrotel, Inc. noted, “For a number of years, Spectrotel has provided a nation-wide, one stop solution for voice services and now we are able to offer Internet services throughout the United States using state-of-the-art IP and Ethernet capabilities.”  He further noted, “Internet access is now an essential service for any business.  In many cases it is more important than a brick and mortar store front, and for some companies it is the backbone for all communications.  Spectrotel’s Internet Over Everything service approach is designed to provide the greatest choice and optimal solution on one bill with one service contact regardless of location.”
